Our licensed Junior Preschool Program supports your child’s growing sense of autonomy and
independence. Building on the Prep Class experience, we continue the Transfer of Trust and Authority from
Parent to Teacher by providing parents with seating at the side of the classroom or in our lobby during class
time if needed and a shorter class time of only 2 hours.

Your child may return to you for reassurance at any time, while practicing “on-my-own” in class
participation and developing their confidence to go to school. Teachers are on hand to lovingly support
your child’s progress as their sense of safety grows through progressively longer parental trips away from
the classroom.

In this program, English vocabulary and academic concepts are explored in greater depth through both play
and structured activities. Children are introduced to cognitive skills such as timekeeping, planning, and
problem-solving, alongside social opportunities to strengthen self-control and build life-skills. There are
many in class opportunities for math, art, tech, and science exploration, while early numeracy and literacy
games and songs enrich the learning environment.

Program Goals suitable for families with children 2.5 – 3 years old:
★ To encourage healthy separation from caregivers for most classroom activities
★ To support each child’s emerging autonomy at their own pace
★ To expand vocabulary for getting help, improving social interactions, and expressing feelings
★ To practice foundational school skills such as waiting, listening, pride in cleaning up, and taking care
with materials
★ To build confidence, independence, and readiness for Preschool
