PROGRAMS:
GLOBALLY CONSCIOUS EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN AGES 1½ TO 6 YEARS
The programs at My Whole Earth Academy cover education for children from 1½ to 6 years of age. Each program is geared towards a different age group to help ensure each child receives the proper care and education. We also offer volunteer positions to high school students and placement opportunities to college and university students focusing on Early Childhood Education, Montessori, and more. Contact our office for more information about our courses and opportunities. We have also updated our program fees to include by-the-month enrollment options for both our in-class and online interactive classrooms.
COVID INFORMATION
We invite you to join us in person in our bright, clean classrooms. In order to respond to the current COVID-19 situation, we have hired experienced cleaning staff to sanitize our classrooms and materials between and after classes. All staff wear a mask at all times, as do all students over the age of 3.
Classes missed due to illness or observance of our Covid Safety Policy are eligible for Class Credits to be used on future enrollment.
PREP SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Parent Participation Junior Prep School – The Introduction (45 minutes, Monday - Thursday, 10:45am - 12:00pm, for children 1½ - 2 years old)
Our Junior Prep Program introduces your child to the classroom experience by ‘attending school’ with you, or your designated care giver.
Teachers will coach you on how to engage your child’s innate ‘learning-by-mimicry’ while supporting their first efforts in a structured setting. Your child will learn how to use art materials to complete simple crafts, engage in positive social interactions with their teachers and peers, practice using emotionally intelligent language to meet their needs, and participate in Preschool activities such as snack and ‘circle’ time.
The Goals: To lay a strong social foundation based on kindness and trust while learning basic skills such as waiting, turn taking, listening to instructions, asking the teacher for help and taking pride in cleaning up.
Parent Participation Senior Prep School – Developing our Skills (1.5 hours, Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am - 10:30 am, for children 2 - 3 years old)
Our Senior Prep Program supports your child’s emerging sense of autonomy and independence. School concepts are explored with a bit more complexity and the calendar is introduced at circle time. Opportunities abound to develop public speaking and confidence along with self-control and simple problem solving. Guided classroom activities include art and science exploration, pre-numeracy & literacy activities, music, and fine motor development.
Coaching conversations with your teachers focus on positive guidance, conflict resolution, and successful separations. We will begin the transfer of trust and authority from parent to teachers as parents begin to step back from the role of primary support in the classroom and take short “breaks” from being in the classroom.
The Goals: To support the emerging autonomy of each child and begin their healthy separation from their care giver for most classroom activities. To expand your child’s vocabulary for receiving help, changing social interactions for the better, and sharing feelings.

PRESCHOOL & JK PROGRAMS

Junior Preschool – Independence Building to On My Own Participation (2 hours, Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am - 11:00 am, for children 2½ - 3 years old)
If your child is at least 2½, and turning 3 before December, they might be ready for our Independence Building Program. This supportive program offers gradual entry into our licensed Preschool classroom. Parents are able to stay in the room, to the side, while being coached by the Teachers to develop positive language and techniques for leaving the classroom completely.
Children demonstrating the ability to follow teacher instructions without their parent in immediate attendance may be ready to join this Junior Preschool class to continue developing the social and emotional skills they need for full Preschool attendance. Ask your Senior Prep Teacher for more information, if you think your child is ready for this next step.
The Goals: To support independent Preschool attendance and complete the transfer of trust and authority to Teachers while building academic and friendship skills.
